Getting started
From installation to the first transponder returned: fifteen minutes, with a FINISH running on the same network.
- Install MAPPING
On the trackside Windows laptop or tablet, run the ChronoFEED-MAPPING installer (Downloads on the website), as for the other programs of the suite.
- Activate the licence
MAPPING is free, but each station has its licence. Open (or the Activate… button of the orange banner), paste the
MAP-…token under Subscription by token, then Activate (the station needs Internet at that moment). Details. - Connect to FINISH
MAPPING finds FINISH on the network by itself, like TABLEAU and VOICE. The top banner turns green: “Connected to FINISH”. If several FINISH announce themselves, tap yours.
The Distribution and Races tabs fill up with FINISH's assignment.
- Request write access
To be able to change a transponder, tap Request access. In FINISH, the timekeeper sees the request in the banner and Accepts it (within 5 minutes). FINISH must have the Trackside changes (MAPPING) setting ON (Broadcast module).
- Draw the board
Tap Admin mode and enter the password provided by your federation or club. Boards tab: the number of rows and columns, Apply size, the “A, B, C… / 1, 2, 3…” labels, then automatic filling: type “1-40” and Fill. Details. Then tap Close admin mode.
- Hand out
Distribution tab: the transponders assigned to running or upcoming races are faded (out), with the athlete's name. When a transponder comes back, double-tap its cell: it is available again.
The board on screen matches the real board.
