Settings, licence and admin mode
What is set on the station, the licence and admin mode. The Settings tab only appears in admin mode.
Station settings
- Station name (“Poste 2”): the one the timekeeper sees in FINISH.
- FINISH address: empty, MAPPING finds it by itself through its announcement on the network.
- Finished races: show them or not in the Races tab.
- This station: its name (seen in FINISH) and the address of FINISH (empty: found on the network).
- Admin mode: the delay before it closes by itself, a new password typed twice.
- Distribution: automatic return, raced races in the list.
- “Close admin mode”: back to distribution mode.
Automatic return
Ticked: at the end of a race, its transponders that have not come back become “to return” (orange frame). Unticked: an ended race keeps its ghosts, a finished race no longer shows them.
The licence
MAPPING is free, but each station has its licence: a MAP-… token, ordered at $0 on the pricing page of the website, or
provided by your federation (it is included in the competition kit). Without a valid licence, MAPPING does not connect to FINISH.
- Open , or the Activate… button of the orange banner.
- Paste the token under Subscription by token, then Activate. The station needs Internet at that moment.
- Afterwards, the licence renews by itself when the station has Internet. To change stations: Release this computer on the old one, then activate the token on the new one.
Admin mode
By default, MAPPING is in distribution mode: the volunteer only sees the distribution, the races or the athletes on the track. The Admin mode button asks for the password provided by your federation or club; it opens the Boards and Settings tabs.
- Close admin mode returns to distribution mode; admin mode also closes by itself after the Close by itself after (minutes without activity) delay.
- In Settings, Change the password (the new one, twice). The password is kept on this station as a salted hash, never in clear text.
- The question.
- The password, masked while it is typed.
- “Open” (or Enter); “Cancel” leaves the station in distribution mode.
