Glossary
MAPPING's words, in the sense the program uses them. Timing words are those of FINISH.
- Hook board
- The real panel where transponders hang, reproduced on screen in rows and columns. A station can have several.
- Hook
- A place on the board. Single: one transponder (1 foot). Double: an athlete's pair (2 feet), drawn as two half-cells. No hook: a hole.
- Usual code
- The short name of a transponder in FINISH (“87”, “12_ROUGE”, “P1”), the one read on the transponder. The two transponders of a pair can share it.
- Ghost (out)
- A faded cell: its transponder is on an athlete in a running or upcoming race. The name and the race are written on it.
- To return
- A ghost circled in orange: its race is over and it has not come back (automatic return).
- Write access
- The permission, given by the timekeeper in FINISH, to change the assignment from this station. Without it, MAPPING only reads.
- Assignment
- Which athlete wears which transponder in which race: it comes from FINISH and stays the reference there.
- MAPPING licence
- The station's
MAP-…token: free, required to connect to FINISH. - Admin mode, distribution mode
- Distribution mode (the default) only shows what is needed to hand out transponders; admin mode opens the board editor and the settings, with the password provided by your federation or club.
- Join the training
- Registering from the trackside an athlete who has no transponder, with those of a hook, during a FINISH training.
