A training session

The club lends its transponders for the session. FINISH times the training; an athlete who arrives without a transponder joins the training from the trackside, with the transponders of a hook, and returns them when leaving.

  1. Prepare the station

FINISH switches to training mode: MAPPING shows the Athletes on the track tab (“Current training: …”). The Training board is the club's board; it is changed in admin mode. Write access must be accepted.

  2. The club's athletes

Those with personal transponders (entered in FINISH) appear with a green badge: nothing to do.

  3. An athlete arrives without a transponder

Under Join the training: name, first name and date of birth, then Choose the transponders on the board… and tap a free hook (1 foot or 2 feet). If the athlete agrees that FINISH keeps the name and date of birth, tick the consent box; otherwise the athlete exists for this training only. Then Join the training.

FINISH adds the athlete to the training; the athlete appears in the list with the MAPPING badge and the laps.

  4. The athlete leaves

The transponders are returned: Return on the athlete's line. The transponders are available again; the athlete stays in the training, with the results.

No training open: the athlete starts a free session

When FINISH is in training mode with no training in progress and no race loaded (the top of the tab says “The training starts at the first crossing of the line.”), the athlete who joins from trackside starts a free session by themselves, without asking the timekeeper. This is the case of free sessions where everyone just wants to know their lap times.

  • The large green message says that the athlete starts a free training, which begins at their first passing on the line; FINISH notifies the timekeeper and writes it to its log.
  • At the athlete's first passing on the line, FINISH opens the free training (“LIBRE_…”); their next passings are their laps, shown in the list.
  • The next trackside athletes join this session as usual.

As for any trackside action, the timekeeper must have set Trackside changes (MAPPING) to ON in the FINISH broadcast settings and accepted this station. Consent, keeping the name and returning the transponders do not change. A race already loaded by the timekeeper keeps priority: the athlete goes into it.
