5- Search for FINISH: the tablet listens for a few seconds for the FINISH stations on the network (same Wi-Fi) where “Accept ChronoFEED-COACH” is ticked, and shows one button per FINISH; if there is only one, its athletes appear right away. Touch the FINISH of the track where your athletes skate. An active licence is required: FINISH checks it before showing anything.
- The athletes of the current session of this FINISH (those of the open session and those who did a lap in the last few hours), each with a chip in the colours of their record in FINISH, their name and club; never their date of birth. Those already paired with this tablet have a chip circled in vermilion and cannot be ticked (their sessions already arrive); an athlete whose access FINISH withdrew is dimmed (“access withdrawn by FINISH”). Tick the ones you coach (touching the row ticks it too).
- Request access: the request goes to FINISH with the tablet's name and yours (Settings › Coach); FINISH shows it to its operator, with the holder of your licence. One request at a time.
- The wait and the answer: the time left, then the operator's answer. They accept all, some or none: the granted athletes are added to the tablet's (check the list shown; otherwise Athletes › the athlete › Stop synchronizing), then their sessions arrive. Without an answer within 5 minutes, the request expires and nothing changes (the tablet says so). Cancel the request removes it from the FINISH screen. An accepted access stays valid the following times, on any FINISH that accepts COACH: nothing to request again.
- Each FINISH met: green ● if connected; its state (connecting, catching up, up to date, live, or what is wrong); the last synchronization and its address.
Synchronize now (further down) calls the known FINISH stations right away (otherwise the tablet finds them by itself over the Wi-Fi). Further down still, the tablet name, shown in the Coaches panel of FINISH.
What the tablet does by itself
- While the app is open, it listens for the FINISH stations on the network that accept COACH, connects (encrypted connection), presents its licence and asks for everything that changed for its athletes since last time: this is catching up. Then the laps arrive live.
- It recognises each FINISH by its certificate, kept when the operator accepts a request. If a FINISH presents another one (reinstalled, or an impostor), it refuses to synchronize with it: “Certificate different from the known one” (and “certificate changed” next to its name when you search for FINISH). If this is expected, send an access request to this FINISH: once accepted by its operator, it makes the new certificate recognised.
- In the background, it stops; when back, it catches up on what it missed.
Messages
