Activate my licence

Mathilde Exemple has just bought ChronoFEED-COACH for her tablet. She receives an email from ChronoFEED with a COA-… token or a licence as an attachment (a .lic file). Four ways to activate it, depending on what the email contains: they all lead to the same confirmation.

1. Paste the token (the simplest)

  1. Copy the token

    In the email, long-press the COA-XXXXX-XXXXX-… token, then Copy. Spaces, quotation marks or a line break added by the email app do not matter: COACH ignores them.

  2. Paste it in COACH

    Licence screen, Activate my licence section: Paste, then Activate.

    The tablet asks the licence server for its licence (Internet needed that time): "Token activated on this computer. Subscription until …".

You can also paste the whole text of a .lic file (the email gives it between two ----- lines): COACH then shows the holder and the expiry date before installing it.

2. Tap the attachment: "Open with" or "Share"

  1. Open the attachment

    In Gmail, Outlook or Samsung Email, tap the .lic attachment (or the token list jetons-chronofeed.csv) and choose ChronoFEED-COACH.

  2. If Android does not recognise the file

    Android does not know the .lic extension: if it offers the Play Store, go back to the email, long-press the attachment, Share, then ChronoFEED-COACH.

  3. Confirm

    COACH opens (or comes back to the front) on the Licence screen and shows what it found: the holder, product and expiry date of a licence, or the token and its subscription. Install or Activate.

    If the list contains several COACH tokens, COACH asks which one to activate on this tablet (one token per device).

3. Choose the saved file

  1. Save the attachment

    In the email: Save (or Download); the file goes to Downloads, or to Drive.

  2. Choose it in COACH

    Licence screen, Choose a file…. All files are offered, even those Android shows without a type: the content counts, not the name.

4. On the PC or the Mac

  • PC (Windows): HelpLicence…, then paste the token under Subscription by token and Activate; or, for a .lic file, drop it in the window (or Open a .lic file…, which also offers All files), then Install.
  • Mac (in testing): Licence screen, Paste then Activate, or Choose a file…; or double-click the saved .lic file (or Open With › ChronoFEED-COACH in the Finder).
