Setting an athlete's load curve

Jérémie Exemple turned 13 on April 2, 2026. At 10, an 11 s lap was a big effort for him; today it is almost a stroll. Mathilde creates a new version of his curve, from his birthday, without touching earlier sessions.

1. What is already there

Athletes › Jérémie Exemple › Load curve. One version exists, “from Sep 1 2023”: 10.0 s = 10, 11.0 s = 8, 12.5 s = 2, 13.5 s = 0. With it, 10 laps in 11.0 s are worth 80.

2. A new version

  1. New version

Tap New version: the editor keeps the displayed points and takes today's date.

  2. The start date

In effect from: April 2, 2026. Sessions from that date on will be calculated with the new version; earlier ones keep the old one.

  3. The points

Mathilde times what Jérémie can hold today: 10.5 s is his maximum (10); 11.0 s, a sustained effort (6); 12.0 s, endurance (2); 13.0 s and slower, recovery (0). She corrects the points, removes one with ✕, adds some with Add a point.

  4. Extra load

Leading a group costs: 10 % more for a lap led. Each pass: 0.5 more. Recovery stays at 0.

  5. Calculate the cells

    The cells from 10.5 s to 13.0 s fill in, one per tenth of a second: 10.6 s = 9.2; 10.7 s = 8.4; … 11.5 s = 4; … The curve appears.

The new version, with the 11.2 s cell adjusted to 5.5.
  1. The two versions; the new one is displayed.
  2. April 2, 2026, Jérémie's birthday.
  3. The four points.
  4. Recovery 0, at the front +10 %, +0.5 per pass.
  5. Calculate, then save.
  6. The curve: the 11.2 s adjustment makes a small bump.
  7. The cells; the adjusted 11.2 s one is in vermilion.

3. Adjusting a cell

Mathilde finds that 11.2 s takes more effort than the straight line says (5.2): she types 5.5 in the 11.2 s cell. She no longer uses Calculate the cells afterwards, which would erase the adjustment.

4. Save and check

  1. Save

Save this version: “Version of Apr 2 2026 saved: sessions from that date on are calculated with it.”

  2. Check a recent session

    The “Speed” session of October 15, 2026: load (curve of Apr 2 2026). Lap 3 (10.71 s, led, one pass) is worth 8.4 × 1.10 + 0.5 = 9.7.

  3. Check an old session

A session from March 2024 still shows “curve of Sep 1 2023”: its load has not changed.
