Omnium Hollywood courte piste

An event in Position mode: at the Lumen-sur-Mer arena (111.12 m track), 20 women and 22 men race a 500 m and a 1000 m. The places decide who moves on: qualifications, semifinals, finals A and B, then the point table's points make the omnium standings.

1. Create the event

  1. Change context

FileChange context…: discipline Short track (track length 111.12), venue Aréna de Lumen-sur-Mer. Confirm.

  2. New event of the Position type

FileOpen an event… → New…. Tick Position (the finishing place counts), template SKF Courte piste — Position · Shared (federation, version 2), Create the races of the template, name Omnium Hollywood courte piste, date 2026-12-05. Confirm.

The template's race types allow two genders: each one is split in two. The event has four races: 500 m Femmes, 500 m Hommes, 1000 m Femmes, 1000 m Hommes. The banner shows Omnium Hollywood courte piste (Position).

2. Import the entries

  1. Import the file

Entries tab → Import…, file inscriptions-omnium-hollywood.csv, Enter the athletes in the open event.

Each “Temps d'inscription 500 m Femmes”… column receives the field of its race: the header contains the race's full name. A time enters the athlete; an empty cell does not.

  2. Match and import

Match with the database → then Import.

    “Race entries: 500 m Femmes: 20; 500 m Hommes: 22; 1000 m Femmes: 20; 1000 m Hommes: 22.”

  3. Bibs (helmet numbers)

Bibs…, By gender: 1 for the women, 51 for the men, order Entry order. Lotte Verhaegen wears 1, Rosalie Duquerroy 17, Thibault Roncière 51.

3. The round plan

In Position mode, the engine proposes the plan of each race based on the number of active entries (neither withdrawn nor absent): the row of the template's progression table that applies, otherwise an automatic calculation.

  1. Read the plan

    Line-up module, race 500 m Femmes, Plan sub-tab.

“Proposed plan (not saved yet): 20 active entry/entries, 3 round(s) — barème 5000”, from “row 4 of the progression table (19 to 24 entries)”: 4 qualification heats, criterion 2+4, then two semifinals of 6.

  2. Choose another row, or adjust a stage

Other plan: another row of the table or “Automatic calculation”, then Apply this choice (as long as no round has been generated). A stage not yet generated can be adjusted in the grid: number of heats (0: based on the athletes), maximum size (0: the rule's), “X+Y” criterion.

  3. Save

Save the plan (otherwise it is saved with the first round). Do the same for the other three races: the 1000 m Femmes (20 entries) takes the row “17 to 24 entries: 3 heats, 2 + 2” of the base model.

The plan of the 500 m Femmes (illustration: the exact plan depends on your template's progression table).
  1. Where the plan comes from: the progression table row that covers 20 entries, or the automatic calculation when no row applies.
  2. One row per stage. The stages of the same round (final A, finals of those eliminated) form one column in the Line-up view. With “finals for everyone” in the rule, everyone races a final.

4. Generate the qualifications

  1. Request the proposal

    Line-up sub-tab → Generate races.

“Engine proposal: check, adjust if needed, then accept. Nothing is written before.” The right-hand panel shows “Proposal: round 1 — Qualification”: 4 heat(s), 20 athlete(s).

  2. Check the distribution

    The rule distributes the first round linearly (A B C D A B C D…) according to the entry ranking (the seeding time), and the following rounds in serpentine order (A B C D D C B A A B…), to balance the heats.

    HeatAthletes (entry rank)
1ARosalie Duquerroy (1), Nora Ellingsen (5), Romane Vauquelin (9), Fenna Kooistra (13), Sofía Arrieta (17)
1BOcéane Lebrasseur (2), Maud Lefébure (6), Kaja Nowicka (10), Noémie Quessard (14), Camille Brissonneau (18)
1CLotte Verhaegen (3), Eline De Smedt (7), Saskia Brouwers (11), Jitske Hoogeveen (15), Freya Lindqvist (19)
1DMilena Dvořáková (4), Justine Pelletreau (8), Marta Quintanilla (12), Yuna Hasegawa (16), Greta Kühnemann (20)
  3. Adjust, then accept

If needed, drag an athlete from one heat to another in the proposal (Adjust (drag and drop athletes between heats), undo, redo). Then Accept (or Cancel the proposal: nothing is written).

“Proposal accepted: the heats are written.” The “Round 1 — Qualification” column of the Line-up view has its four cards; the following rounds remain “To generate once the previous round has been raced.”

Then send the heats to FINISH as in long track (Send to FINISH): the .cfevent and the database carry the “2+4” rule of each heat, which FINISH displays.

The database also carries the heat order of the program: FINISH sorts its races in the order of the schedule (interleaved rounds and blocks included) and follows a schedule change.

5. Enter the results and refereeing decisions

Results come from FINISH (shared database or .LIF files); you can also enter them. Example: in heat 1A, Nora Ellingsen impedes Romane Vauquelin, who falls. The referee penalizes Nora (interference) and advances Romane.

  1. Open the heat

Results tab, race 500 m Femmes, heat 1A on the left (or, in the Line-up view, right-click the card → Enter or correct the results…).

  2. Enter places, times and codes

For each athlete: the finishing Place, the Time (“46.012”, “46,012”, “1:02.345”), and if needed a Code and its Reason. Nora: code PEN, reason P-INTER (you can also type P-INTER alone in the code: it gives the code of its action, DISC). Romane: code ADV. Places from times fills in the missing places from the times.

Rank, gap and outcome are recalculated with each keystroke; a changed row is highlighted, a faulty row says why (“Code DISC requires a reason.”).

  3. Save

    Save.

“Results of heat 1A saved (5 line(s)).” The event log keeps the before and after.

2
Results tab, heat 1A of the 500 m Femmes: a penalty with its reason, an advanced athlete.
  1. The codes are those of the template's table: PEN and DQ are other names for DISC (penalty, reason required, ranked after the ranked athletes); ADV is another name for AV1 (advanced heat A: qualified). The outcome (“Advances?”) takes into account the criterion and the other heats.
  2. The stage outcome according to the X+Y criterion, with the explanation of each decision (“qualified by position”, “qualified on time”, “advanced (referee decision): takes the place of the last time qualifier”, “not qualified: code DISC forbids it”…). It stays provisional until all heats have their results.
  3. Make the round official: all heats of the round become official (step 6).

6. Advance: the semifinals

  1. Make the round official

When all four heats have their results: Make the round official, and confirm “Make the 4 heat(s) of “Qualification” official?”.

““Qualification”: official results; the next round is generated in the Line-up module.”

  2. Generate round 2

Line-up module → Generate races. The button only acts if the current round has been fully raced; otherwise the banner names the heats without complete results (“1C, 1D”).

“Proposal: round 2 — Semi-finals”: two heats of 6, in serpentine order. The Explanations panel says for each athlete why they advance or not.

  1. Each decision of the engine is explained: position, time, tie, advanced, officiating code. Nothing is written before Accept; any random draw (and its seed) is in the Draws tab and in the log.
  1. Accept

Accept, send to FINISH, race, enter or import the results, then Make the round official.

7. The finals

  1. Generate round 3

Generate races: “Proposal: round 3 — Finals”. The “Round 3 — Finals” column has one section per stage: Final A (the 2+2 of the semifinals), finals of those eliminated in the semifinals (final B) and in the qualifications.

  2. Race, enter, make official

As in the previous rounds. In a round of finals, the schedule runs the final A last (Final A last (best last) in the Schedule tab).

8. Points and final standings

  1. The final standings of each race

    Line-up module, Standings sub-tab: final A, then final B…, then those eliminated, with the points of the race's point table (barème 5000: 5000, 4700, 4418, 4152, 3903, 3669…).

“Final ranking of the race.” (or “Provisional ranking: the race is not finished.”)

  2. The omnium standings

Standings tab, Combined standings: in Position mode, the method is the sum of the point table's points. Rank by: “Gender”. Races included: all four (each athlete races only two). Save settings.

9. Broadcast

As in long track (Broadcast to TABLEAU): Broadcast module, Start broadcasting, Broadcast box for each race. In Position mode, each race goes out with its final standings and its points (point table); it is “official” when all its heats are. The omnium (combined) standings are not broadcast; TABLEAU shows the four races one after the other.
