Reuse a federation-wide rule
A federation's rules (categories, officiating codes, point tables, performance, race types, formation models) fit in a template. Prepared once for the whole federation, it reaches every computer with the common data.
1. Where the shared template comes from
Shared templates are stored by national federation in Technofeed's master database, along with the other common data (countries, sports, venues, tracks, clubs…). They are prepared there with Technofeed's administration tool from the rules the federation provides, then published. Each computer receives them at its next launch (if Check the common data over the internet at start-up is ticked in ), or right away through .
2. Start from the shared template
- The right context
The computer's context gives the sport and country: that is what identifies the national federation (here SKF) and therefore its templates.
- Choose it at creation
In a new event's record, after the type: the Template list offers, in order, the shared templates of the context's national federation (then those offered to all), the computer's local templates, then the bundled examples. The first shared template is selected by default.
Under the list: “Shared (federation, version 3)”. The event keeps a copy of the template and its origin.
3. Adapt it for one event
- Open the event template
Template… in the banner (or ). It opens directly, without a password.
- Change what needs to be changed
Tabs General, Categories, Race types, Point tables, Formulas, Performance, Groups, Standings, Start colours, Advanced (JSON)… (only those of the event's mode). Check lists the problems; Save writes the copy into the event.
The General tab now says “modified locally”: the shared template itself has not changed.
- Keep it for the next events
Keep in my templates.
A “… (modified locally)” copy joins the computer's local templates, offered to the next events (“Modified locally” in the list); it is updated if you keep it again.
