Context help (F1)

In TABLEAU, the F1 key opens this help at the section for the item you are on: a setting in the control panel, a section of the view editor, the screen itself.

How it works

1. One key per area. TABLEAU has no settings search like FINISH and EVENT: its windows carry help keys (tableau.pilotage.delai for the display delay, tableau.editeur.champs for the “Fields” list…).
2. One section per key. In the reference by screen, the section describing the area carries that name.
3. A table. The aide/commun/f1/tableau.json file maps each key to its page and section.
4. F1. TABLEAU starts from the item you are on and goes up to the window, noting every key it meets, including the selected tab; the first one known to f1.json gives the section. None: the home page of this help.

Where the help is, and without F1

TABLEAU opens the help installed with it (the aide folder next to the program), in the software's language (in French for a page whose translation is still to come). With no help installed, it opens the online help on the chronofeed.ca site. Without F1, the search at the top of every page (Ctrl+K) finds a setting by its label: “delay”, “header”, “lapping”.
