EVENT's overall standings
Between two races, the giant screen shows the standings of each race as kept by EVENT, page by page, race after race; a second screen, in the lobby, shows only the standings.
Example: the Coupe Hollywood. At the race office, the EVENT computer “SECRETARIAT-HSK” broadcasts the 500 m Women, the 500 m Men and the 1000 m Women. ECRAN-PUBLIC follows FINISH and EVENT; ECRAN-HALL follows only EVENT.
1. In EVENT
EVENT's Broadcast module: Start broadcasting, keep Announce EVENT on the network every 2 s. Only the races ticked “Broadcast” are sent (see the EVENT help, Broadcast). A race to be reviewed: untick it, and it leaves the scoreboards immediately.
2. Receiving the standings in TABLEAU
- Follow EVENT
Control panel, under Overall standings (EVENT): tick Receive EVENT's overall standings, EVENT on the local network (or EVENT through Redis, with the scoreboard's Redis credentials).
“Connected to EVENT 192.168.10.12 · 3 race(s) broadcast · … batches”. Two EVENT computers: choose yours in the list.
- Choose the view
VIEWS → Overall standings (EVENT): “Exemple-ClassementGeneral”, or nothing (the delivered view “Classement général (par défaut)”).
- See it right away
SCENARIO → Overall standings (manual mode, until Automatic).
The 500 m Women, page 1 / 4, then page 2 / 4 eight seconds later… then the 500 m Men.
3. Setting up the view
Duplicate “Exemple-ClassementGeneral” in the editor (Ctrl+E), then, in the View tab:
- Page (s) 10: each page stays ten seconds, frozen; a time corrected by EVENT meanwhile appears on the next page;
- Lines per page 0: as many as the card area holds (here twelve lines of 72 pixels);
- Races shown “500m”: only the 500 m races (“-junior” would leave out the juniors);
- Race order “Most recently updated first”: the standings that just changed come first.
The “EVENT standings” fields of the catalogue are ticked in the “Fields” list (filter “event standings”): rank, name, club, country, time, gap, points, code, bib, category, avatar; in the banner, the event, the race, official or provisional, page x / y, the update time.
4. In automatic mode
On ECRAN-PUBLIC, in Automatic mode: when nothing has been on the track for Overall standings after (120 s), the overall standings take over the screen; after a full round of the races (or Overall standings at least), the advertising, if Then the advertising is ticked. As soon as a race is loaded in FINISH, the athlete introductions come back, on the very next frame. See The idle track.
5. A screen dedicated to the overall standings
On ECRAN-HALL: untick Receive FINISH (live races), tick the EVENT reception, and choose the overall standings view; then Overall standings (or leave it on Automatic: the standings come after “Overall standings after”). The screen cycles through the broadcast races, without ever showing a race in progress.
