An introduction with photos

When a race is loaded in FINISH, the scoreboard introduces its athletes: round photo, starting colour, name, club, bib, personal best. Then it moves on to the race, on its own.

Example: the Coupe Hollywood, 1000 m Women, pair “G2 P01” and its neighbour loaded together (four skaters). The photos are in the FINISH athlete records (see FINISH, Managing athletes).

The introduction on screen: four loaded skaters, by start position (photos and logos are made up).
  1. “Athlete (avatar)”: the record's photo, otherwise its image; round (radius = half the side), blue frame.
  2. “Start line pos.” with the athlete's starting colour: the helmet dot.
  3. “Athlete name”, 28-point bold.
  4. “Team”, “# Bib” (yellow) and “Personal best” (right-aligned, hidden if empty).
  5. “Athlete (image)”: the club logo, fitted, hidden if empty.

Avatar: the photo if there is one, otherwise the image, otherwise nothing. The alignment (Horizontal, Vertical) positions the image; the radius (Background and border) rounds its corners: half the side of a square gives a circle. In the preview: a silhouette.

2. What makes it work

View tab, Filters and sorting
Sort “Start position”; Race states shown: only Loaded — as soon as the race starts, the view has nothing left to show and the scenario moves on to the race.
View tab, Card area
Columns (laps) 2, Column width 960, Row height 210: four cards per screen under a 150 banner; beyond that, pages of 8 s.
The round avatar
“Athlete (avatar)” element of 190 × 190, Framing “Fill”, Radius 95 (half the side), “#00A0E3” frame of thickness 4 on all four sides, “#263238” background for an athlete with no photo. See Athlete image.
The dot
“Start line pos.”, 56 × 56, radius 28, Colors “Starting position colour”, Hide if empty or 0, placed over the bottom of the avatar (higher altitude).
The banner
“Competition”, “Race”, “Current time”, “Race distance”.

For the photo only (never the club image in its place), use “Athlete (photo)” instead of “Athlete (avatar)”. Photos are requested once from FINISH and then kept on the computer; a photo changed in the record comes back on its own.

3. In the scenario

Panel, VIEWS → Athlete introductions: “Starford introductions”; DURATIONS → Presentation (s) 15. In Automatic mode, when FINISH loads the pair, the introduction lasts 15 s (longer, if it needs the time to show every page), then the Race view waits for the start. All races loaded together are introduced together; a race the scoreboard discovers already started is not introduced. The Presentation button forces it on demand.
