Training and lapping
On club night, the skaters go round whenever they like: the scoreboard shows, very large, the last lap kept by lapping, the last ten as tiles, and, for each skater, how many laps they did within their target.
Example: the Bobines Volantes training session (111.12 m track at the Port-Ondine arena), set up in FINISH as in the FINISH Free training scenario: Training activity, lapping enabled, a minimum and a maximum lap time for each skater.
- “Lapping (athlete)”: the skater of the kept lap, on their colour.
- “Lapping”: the time of the kept lap, very large, on the same colour.
- “Lapping: last 10 (horizontal)”: the last ten kept laps, the most recent on the left (including a guest with a rented chip).
1. A view for lapping
- A banner view
Editor → New, name “Bobines lapping”, Name format “F. LASTNAME” (short names, readable in the tiles). Untick all the card fields: the lapping elements are banner elements, they do not depend on any card.
- The kept lap
Tick Lapping (athlete) (54-point bold, 1680 × 110) and Lapping (220 points, 1680 × 380); a radius of 20. Their colours are replaced by the skater's (their starting colour); a skater with no colour keeps the element's colours.
- The last ten
Tick Lapping: last 10 (horizontal): a large rectangle of ten tiles appears; “Size (pt)” 44 for the time, Tile list section for the number, the name size, the spacing.
- Hide when there is nothing
Hide if empty or 0 on all three: with no kept lap, the screen stays black.
- In the scenario
Panel: “Bobines lapping” for the Race and Pause moments; Advertising after 0.
Lapping disappears when FINISH disables it or resets it, when FINISH goes silent, and as soon as there is no race left in its tabs (the training session closed automatically): no time stays displayed on a screen left on by mistake.
2. Laps within the target
In training, FINISH counts for each skater the laps within their own min/max. An “Athlete table” view of the training session, sorted by Name, with the columns:
| Athlete name | Total no. of laps | Laps in min/max (all laps) | Laps in min/max, reset (current streak) | N |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BELLANDI, Chiara | 18 | 14 | 6 | 10.88 |
| CHIP, ZD0011A | 12 | 12.40 | ||
| DE SMEDT, Eline | 27 | 21 | 0 | 16.40 |
| MIZUSHIMA, Haruto | 31 | 29 | 12 | 09.20 |
| RONCIÈRE, Thibault | 34 | 23 | 7 | 08.94 |
- Total no. of laps: all the laps skated, including the opening lap and suspended laps, with no limit.
- Laps in min/max (all laps): those whose time is between the skater's min and max, limits included.
- Laps in min/max, reset (current streak): the latest consecutive laps within the min/max; Eline has just done 16.40 s (above her max of 13 s): her streak drops back to 0.
The guest (rented chip) has no min/max: those two columns stay empty. To read “23/34”, place two elements side by side. Everything starts from zero again at the next training session. See the three lap counts.
3. The latest at the top
A practice “Athlete table” view, View tab: Sort “Last passing” and Pagination off. The athletes who have just passed are always on the first page, without waiting for the pages to turn; those who have stopped slide down, off the screen.
On “Athlete name”, Colors “Athlete's colours (athlete record, session)”: each name takes the colours of its athlete record, or its session colours (chip code, “CHIP” guest); an athlete with no colour keeps the field's.
