Files and model views
Where TABLEAU stores its settings, views, images and advertising on the computer, how to carry views from one computer to another, and the model views delivered with the program.
The computer's folders
Everything is under %APPDATA%\ChronoFEED\TABLEAU (the Windows user's folder); the panel's Views folder,
Backgrounds folder and Ads folder buttons open them.
| Folder or file | Contents |
|---|---|
reglages.json | The connection mode, the FINISH server, the remembered FINISH, the EVENT source, the scenario views and durations, the display delay, the advertising, full screen, the position of the detached panel. No secrets: the scoreboard has no access to the database, it only knows the broadcast. |
redis.dpapi | Redis mode only: this scoreboard's Redis credentials, encrypted by Windows (unreadable on another computer or by another user). |
Vues\*.vue.json | The views, one per file (the file name is the view name). |
Fonds\ | The views' images: backgrounds, logos. |
Publicites\ | The images, videos and texts (RTF) of the advertising. |
Photos\ | The athlete photos and images received from FINISH or EVENT. Each file's name is the fingerprint of its content: a photo is requested only once, even from one day to the next; a photo changed in the record gets a new fingerprint and comes back on its own. |
A view file (.vue.json)
A readable JSON file: the view's settings (type, size, background, card area, images, formats, filters…) and the list of its elements (information, position, size, font, colours…). Only the settings that differ from the default are written. A view from a more recent TABLEAU that contains an unknown piece of information is still read (the unknown element is ignored); an unknown view type is reported in the log and the other views load.
Views from the former scoreboard (.layout)
A .layout file dropped into the views folder is converted at the next reload (F5 or
Reload views): a .vue.json with the same name is created, the .layout stays in place, and the conversion only happens
once (if a .vue.json with that name already exists, nothing is redone).
- each piece of information is recognized by its name or number; unknown information is ignored;
- image paths are reduced to the file name (to be copied into the backgrounds folder);
- colours and opacity are converted; a negative colour becomes “transparent”;
- the formatted message is kept as is (see Message text);
- the start position filter is carried over if it was enabled.
The model views
On first startup (views folder empty or missing), TABLEAU installs its model views and their images: it is usable right away. Reinstall the model views copies back the missing ones; an existing file is never overwritten. They keep all three race states: they are general-purpose views, except the introduction. For a start list or results, duplicate one and untick the states that do not apply.
| View | Type | For |
|---|---|---|
| Classement (par défaut) | Athlete cards | Delivered in the program (neither saved nor deleted: duplicate it to change it). One row per athlete: position, starting colour, name, avatar, team, laps to go, last lap, cumulative. |
| Classement général (par défaut) | EVENT overall standings | Delivered in the program: twelve lines per page, eight seconds each. |
| Exemple-Presentation | Athlete cards | The “Presentation” moment: loaded races only, two cards per row, by start position, the round avatar, the position dot, the name, the team, the bib, the personal best and the record's image. |
| Exemple-ClassementGeneral | EVENT overall standings | Banner (event, race, time, official / provisional, page x / y) and twelve lines of 72 pixels. |
| Exemple-Tableau | Athlete table | Name, final and lap columns. |
| Exemple-Quartet | Athlete cards | Two pairs on the track: pair, starting colour, laps, overall standings, personal track best. |
| Exemple-Pause | Race cards | The “Pause” moment: competition, time, venue, logo, message. |
| CourtePiste-Athletes, Exemple-Ancien | Athlete cards | Views from the former scoreboard, on a background image. |
