ChronoFEED TABLEAU Help

Glossary

TABLEAU's words, in the sense in which the software and this help use them.

Announcement
The message that FINISH (and EVENT, on its own port) sends on the network every 2 s so it can be found: TABLEAU connects to it without anyone entering an address.
Preview
In the editor, the real rendering of the view, with sample values (or the received data). In the panel, the “Preview” box shows the view on the screen without FINISH.
Banner
The top of the screen, above the card area; an element “in the banner” is drawn only once and is positioned from the corner of the screen, anywhere.
Card
The repeated area of a view: one per athlete, per race, per race in the schedule or per athlete in the overall standings. Its elements are positioned from its corner. In an athlete table, a card is a row.
Field (information)
What an element shows: name, last lap, clock, record… The editor's “Fields” list has one box for each (catalogue).
Overall standings
Two things: those of FINISH, an athlete's place among all the times of the competition over the same distance (“Overall, …” fields); those of EVENT, the race standings broadcast by EVENT and shown by a view of type “EVENT overall standings” (“EVENT standings, …” fields).
Lap counter
The laps that will remain after the next crossing of the line (“0” on the last lap).
Starting colour
The colour of an athlete's start position (helmet, armband), set in FINISH and broadcast with the athlete.
Race in progress
A race in the FINISH tabs: loaded (no start yet), in progress (started) or finished (everyone has finished, still open). Only these races are shown; a race run (closed) or not run (upcoming) never is.
Reference race
The race the banner elements talk about: the first race in progress in the view, otherwise the first one.
Display delay
A deliberate delay applied to everything FINISH and EVENT send, for an overlay on a video that is itself delayed.
Element
A field placed in a view, with its position, size and style.
Header
In an athlete table, the title of a column, in the row above the lines.
Space (Redis)
The common name that FINISH and the remote scoreboards enter in their Redis setting (“hsk-starford”): their shared keys.
Overlay
The graphic laid over the camera picture: TABLEAU draws on a green background that the production software removes.
Lapping
The latest lap passing on the track, held for a moment by FINISH, shown in large type in the athlete's colours; mostly in training.
Batch
A bundle of changes sent by FINISH (a passing, a start…). The panel counts the batches received.
Hold
Three settings: the Race view kept a few seconds after the end (panel); an element “with hold” visible for a few seconds after a passing (view); “Remove finished after” (view). Unrelated to the FINISH hold delay, which decides when a race becomes run.
Leader
The athlete in position 1 of a race: on a race card and in the banner, the athlete fields refer to this athlete.
Min/max
In training, an athlete's minimum and maximum lap time (their target), in their FINISH record.
Moment
Presentation, Race, Results, Pause, Overall standings, Advertising: what the scenario decides to show; each has its own view.
Automatic mode, manual mode
Automatic: the scenario chooses the moment based on FINISH. Manual: a panel button forces a moment until the “Automatic” button is pressed.
Page
When the cards do not fit in the area, they are shown in pages, one after another (the view's “Page (s)”).
Control panel
The scoreboard's controls (F2), inside the scoreboard or detached into a window on another screen.
Photo, image, avatar
An athlete's record carries a photo and an image (club, flag, drawn avatar); “avatar”: the photo if there is one, otherwise the image. Kept on the computer by their fingerprint, requested only once.
Advertising
An image, a video, a text or a web page shown full screen, in a loop, when nothing is happening on the track.
Redis
A message server on the Internet (your own) through which FINISH and EVENT reach scoreboards on another network.
Scenario
The automatic choice of the moment, on every frame, based on the state of the races in FINISH.
Streak (min/max)
An athlete's latest consecutive laps within their min/max; a lap outside the limits resets it to zero.
View type (Chart)
Athlete cards, Athlete table, Race cards, Schedule, EVENT overall standings.
Trial value
The text an element shows in the preview, without FINISH.
View
A complete layout (1920 × 1080 by default), saved in a .vue.json file. A model view is delivered with TABLEAU; the default view, “Classement (par défaut)”, is part of the program.
.layout
The view file of the former scoreboard, converted to .vue.json when it is dropped into the views folder.
