Step 5 Enable lapping
Show each athlete's last lap very large, in their colours, in FINISH and on the TABLEAU screens.
The goal
At every lap, the athlete's time is shown large for a few seconds: this is what athletes and coaches look at as they go by.
Before you start
- A training session loaded (step 4).
- To hold only good laps: each athlete's min and max (athletes file, step 2); otherwise the session defaults.
What to do, one action at a time
- Open the settings
Settings (top) › Lapping tab.
- Enable
Enable lapping, Last lap hold time 4 s, mode Individual, Hold only laps within the athlete's minimum and maximum, Lapping line empty (the STA finish line).
- Close
Close (the settings are kept, even after a restart).
The Lapping tab appears in the Timing module, after Annotations.
- Watch
Lapping tab during training.
The held lap, very large, in the athlete's colours; “Next lap held in 3 s”; the latest laps at the bottom.
What success looks like
- A lap within the athlete's target appears large as they cross the line.
- A lap outside their min / max is not held (it stays flagged “Outside target” in their laps).
- The TABLEAU screens receive the same lap (step 6).
Common problems and solutions
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The Lapping tab does not appear | Enable lapping is not ticked, or no race is in progress (lapping clears when the training is closed). |
| Some laps are never shown | They are outside the athlete's min / max: check their target in the Athletes tab, or untick Hold only laps within the athlete's minimum and maximum. |
| Two athletes cross together, only one is shown | Normal: a lap is held for the hold time (4 s). Lower it, or add the last-10 list to the screen (step 6). |
| Lapping counts an intermediate line | Lapping line: leave empty (finish line) or choose STA. |
