Race list

All the races of the session, in starting order, with their state: this is where a race is loaded, created, edited, set aside or reset.

The List (waves) tab during the Coupe Hollywood: two pairs raced, one in progress, one loaded (sample data).
  1. The list buttons and the box for showing raced races.
  2. The list: the state of each race in plain words (dot and label), its order, its athletes in the color of their start position.

List (waves)

Where: Timing, second tab

One row per race, in one of five states:

StateMeaning
Not racedIn the list only.
Loaded (yellow)In “Races in progress”, not started yet.
In progress (green)The start has been given.
Finished (blue)All active athletes have finished; the race is still on screen (closing countdown).
Raced (gray)It has left the races in progress, during this session or a previous one (the database says so). Order 9999.99. It is never taken up again on its own.

Columns: Status, Order, Name, Pair, Group (only with “Grouped” loading), Athletes (each in the color of their start position), Penalty (sanction), Rule, Gender, Laps, Distance, Track, Line (start), Loop (finish), Mode. A pencil icon marks a race created or edited by hand: rereading the file no longer touches it.

The order is the only editable column: double-click, then a real number (1.1 goes between 1 and 2). Two non-raced races with the same order are flagged in red and the tab becomes “List (waves) Duplicate”; inconsistent groups (races with the same code that do not follow each other, different distances, more than 20 races) make it “List (waves) Group”, with the explanation below the list. Nothing is blocked: everything disappears as soon as it is corrected. Without a session: “No session open”.

The buttons

Refresh

Rereads the session file (or the competition in the database) right away, by merging: a new race is added, a race that is only in the list and came from the file is updated, a race that is loaded, in progress, finished, raced or edited by hand is not touched. During a race, the reload waits: “Reload pending: a race is in progress.”

A competition loaded from the database by EVENT keeps the order of EVENT's schedule: at the reread, the races in the list (even changed by hand) take their new rank; only the races of the chosen events are reread.

Load race

Puts the selected race into “Races in progress”, waiting for the start. In “One race” mode, it becomes the active race. A double-click, on the other hand, opens the race sheet.

Add, Edit, Duplicate

Open the race sheet: empty, on the selected race (not loaded yet), or on a copy. A race that is loaded, in progress or finished does not open: a hint points to the race's Options tab (min/max) or to “Next”; a raced race, to “Reset”.

Show races already run (greyed out)

Checked: races raced during a previous session stay in the list, grayed out. Those raced during this session always stay. (Same setting as Load finished races.)

The race sheet

To create a race by hand, edit a race not loaded yet, or duplicate one. A race saved through the sheet is “manual”.

  • At the top: Name, Order, Pair, Gender, Speech synthesis, Open race (any transponder that crosses the line becomes an athlete) and Close after (“After this delay, the race closes”: kept, not used yet).
  • Course: Use (take the parameters of a template or of a race in the list), distance, track, number of laps (computed with the distance; changing it recomputes the distance), start line (distance of the first partial lap), start signal, finish loop, race type, Two corridors (pairs).
  • End of race and min/max: end type, finish after, Min. and Max. of a lap with the action when they are reached, sanction (Penalty), rule, Elimination (“3; 5; 7”: the last athlete drops out at laps 3, 5 and 7; “3:2”: two athletes at lap 3; “2-10/2”: one athlete every two laps from lap 2 to lap 10) or an Elimination rule (the federation's or one of yours; the … button opens the elimination rules), read back in plain words.
  • Athletes: the session's available athletes (filter), the arrows to add or remove, a New athlete (“LASTNAME, First name” and transponder), the grid Active, Pos., Bib, Name, Team, Transponder 1 and 2.
