ChronoFEED FINISH Help

Results in the ChronoFEED database

The club organises the Hollywood Cup. Its results will join the ChronoFEED results database, where the organisers of the next competitions find them to form their races by performance, but it is not FINISH that sends them: since version 2.0.25, only EVENT publishes, and only results set to "Official".

1. Before the competition

  1. Inform the athletes

Tell your athletes, in the privacy notice or the registration form, that their official competition results may be published to the ChronoFEED results database by EVENT, and what their rights are (view, delete, refuse publication, with any timekeeper). For minors, obtain the parents' consent according to your federation's rules.

  2. Complete the records

History › Athletes, Show: Without date of birth, then Without country. An athlete without a date of birth or a country (chosen from the list) cannot be published by EVENT.

  3. Refusals

For an athlete who refuses (or whose parents refuse): Full record… → Shared results → untick Publish results. The server will refuse any result for them, from any computer.

2. During and after the competition

FINISH times the races; the times go, as usual, to the overall standings of the shared database. Nothing goes to the results server.

Once the results are checked and set to Official in EVENT (Standings tab, Standings/Laps view), the organiser publishes them from EVENT: Outputs → Publish official results to ChronoFEED…. A provisional row, an unofficial row or a row with a correction not yet saved is never sent; if nothing is official, EVENT refuses the publication and says so. See the EVENT help, Publish official results.

3. What remains in FINISH

The athletes' rights, from their record (next scenario): view what the server keeps about them, delete some of it, refuse publication. Settings › Results server: the server address (change it only for a test server) and the log of these lookups, deletions and publication changes.
